W.EX

NDWD offers a Work Experience (WEX) program for eligible applicants. The WEX program is a short term employment or training opportunity specified for a limited amount of hours.

P.S.E.

Post Secondary Education (PSE) – Participants who are Interested in pursuing a degree may qualify for program funding at an NDWD approved Training Provider (see NDWD Training Providers List); dependent on funds availability and individual needs. 

O.S.T.

Occupational Skills Training (OST) involves sending qualified applicants to certificate programs at NDWD approved training providers.

A.B.E.

Adult Basic Education (ABE) involves assistance for qualified applicants working towards obtaining a high school equivalency certificate.

The Navajo Department of Workforce Development is the largest Native American grantee of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funding and services in the United States.

Our service delivery area covers all of the Navajo Nation. 

What We Do:

We provide the following services for eligible persons based on need and funds availability:

  • Short term employment called Work Experience.
  • Classroom training/vocational training/GED
  • Lodging/Rent Assistance
  • Books/Supplies assistance.
  • Meal Expenses
  • Relocation or lay off assistance
