On
behalf of the Navajo Department of Workforce Development (NDWD), I extend
a greeting to the Navajo people, residents of the Navajo Nation,
employers, Navajo Nation programs, schools, and our partners that help
implement employment and training services. This publication is provided
for your information on our Window Rock Administration Office and local
Workforce Centers and sub-offices on the Navajo Nation. Our department
receives funding from the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services to serve eligible residents of the Navajo
Nation with employment and training services. There are a variety of
program services available for eligible youths and adults, including core
services to assist job-ready individuals with job development, resume’
building and referral services.
History
Since
1973, The Navajo Nation has administered Federal and State grants for
employment and training programs, assisting residents of the Navajo Nation
in becoming self-sufficient. Navajo Department of Workforce Development, a
Navajo Nation Administrative Entity Sponsored program, has been providing
much needed employment and training services to eligible participants and
meeting employers demands for skilled workers.
