NEW

(Native Employment Works)

The Native Employment Works (NEW) Program provides education, training, job readiness, employment activities and support services necessary for assisting participants in preparing for, obtaining, and /or for retaining employment to eligible residents of the Navajo Nation.
To be eligible for N.E.W. Program you must meet the following:
  1. Native American (Tribal enrollment verified),
  2. A resident within the Navajo Nation service delivery area,
  3. Age 14 years or older,
  4. Meet one of the following target groups:
    1. Program for Self-Reliance : formerly known as [TANF] or
    2. Public Assistance Recipient : General Assistance, Food Stamps, USDA, Food Distribution Program, or
    3. Social Security Benefits Recipient - (Includes Supplemental Security Income (SSI), OASI, Medicaid, and other titles), or
    4. Long-term unemployment and job seeking, or
    5. A tenant in a low-income housing program, or
    6. A teen parent, or
    7. A displaced homemaker, or
    8. A High School drop out.
